Stacked Burger Samui is a restaurant with American-style gourmet burgers. It’s a restaurant from OZO hotels – an international resort chain. Stacked Burger Samui – is a team of professionals who made our photo-shooting smooth and fun.

The specifics of Burger restaurant photo-shooting
For an FNB advertisement campaign or social media account you need to play with all the feelings and associations that will make your future guest hungry, or feel the hype of a MUST-VISIT place.
Working with different photographers for one project will provide a better result.
Because for the menu, you will need one photographer, for the ambience and interior another one, and to work with models a third one. If you unify all of them, you can get an amazing multisided view of your restaurant, which will create a well-balanced social media image.
Stacked Burger Samui
For Stacked Burger, we had only one day to shoot all the burgers on the menu, as well as for the lifestyle photo shooting with models eating the burgers.
To create the final photo project we involved three photographers, each one with a special task. We worked only during day time, to catch the natural light – and to transfer the real atmosphere of the place.
Choose the right photographer
For a menu photo shooting – the photographers will work with a light box, or even shoot everything in a studio.
For this project, and mainly for social media – we were in need of real photos. The best are photos full of life! Photos that show not only the ingredients inside each dish but also the atmosphere and the vibes.
In other words, the main goal of a social media photo shooting – is to create a preview of guests’ good time at the place. As well as keeping a recognizable brand style.
Usually, the Instagram accounts that will have more food-only photos with a similar background or a light box – are fine dining restaurants.
PRO TIP: To realize this project we got inspired by the way of how works a restaurant kitchen. We have created a “Food flow” between the photographers and different sites of the restaurant. In this way, each burger was shoot by all the involved photographers and ended up in the hands of the models. We also controlled to have only one model touching each burger, for obvious sanitary reasons.
Why more is better?
Usually, a photo shooting will provide you with 10-50 nice photos from one photographer. It’s possible to work with the same photographer several times and have a consistent style, but good photographers are usually specialized in special kinds of photos, for example, reportage or food. But rarely both.
Working with several photographers gives the possibility to use the strong side of each of them. If you will call them all apart, they will make 3 different styles. Then and you will have no consistency in your brand image (And you will waste much more food and time). To make them work together and create a consistent style you need an Art director. Who will guide them during the photo shooting.
With 3 photographers we got a high quantity of photos, from different artistic views. Which makes it easy to schedule Social media posts for a few months ahead. The same quantity of photos can be made with one photographer, but it will take several photo shootings.
The concept behind
For this project, we had the green light to create any special art project. We got inspired by Rene Magritte and did a series of photos with a tasty burger instead of the head with a hat. This series was a homage to the artwork with an apple the Son of Man. It also looks like the moment before you start to eat the burger, as well as how you will see your friends at the table.
Rene Magritte was a contemporary artist and the burgers from Stacked are like a piece of contemporary culinary art. Each burger has classic ingredients but with an Asian twist.
PRO TIP: Details are important when you want to tell the story of a brand! We provided the models with accessories and an additional set of clothes, in a fun colourful style. In addition, we used contemporary art books for the flat lays background. In this way, we wish to attract a more sophisticated auditory, as the burgers are on a very high level.
