Missing structural parts, like the caption itself, the hashtags, or the location tag
The first thing to know about Instagram is that even if your followers are human (let’s hope so), Instagram is powered by an Algorithm. The Algorithm is a computer, that can’t fully understand what your post is about without some additional information from your side. All parts of the post are equally important for the Algorithm. The more information you provide – the easier it will be for the Algorithm to show your post to the right people.
>> your followers and potential customers will also appreciate it if you at least add a caption to your post.

Not using a strategy for hashtags or using hashtags randomly without an understanding of their function
Here again, we need to work with the Algorithm. A good ratio of impressions is when your hashtags give you more impressions than your followers.
Instagram has so many users, that to be seen you need to use a hashtag strategy. A hashtag strategy is not only about the content of your hashtags but also about taking care to choose the right one, as well as rotating different hashtags with the same meaning.
>> For example, if you have 1000 followers and 20 likes per post. Then there’s no sense to use #travel or #seaview, or #Pizza. Because to be visible in these hashtags you need to have over 1M followers and over 10K likes per post.

Not using a strategy for content and to have or too much, or not enough diversity in the feed
This mistake is often seen in restaurants, which just post a dish every day. Or in villas which just post the Seaview and swimming pool all the time. Or on the opposite those who share a lot of content not linked to the business. For example, memes, photos, music concerts, personal photos, food, soi dogs, etc.
The issue is that there’s no story behind it. There’s nothing about the atmosphere, nothing about the design or anything, nothing about the reason why this place is so special.
>> Imagine, you have a friend who talks about the same thing all the time. Or a friend who just talks about random unrelated things he/she sees around. At some point, you’ll get tired and stop inviting these friends, right? Well, this is the same with social media. You need to show your business from all sides, give it a story, and make it interesting, make it remarkable.

Buying followers and or/and likes, participating in engagement pods, like-threads, follow loops etc
Probably until Instagram starts sending financial fees for rule violations – people will continue to try to hack the algorithm. But until now, it only works on some naive users. Who will make a conclusion about a brand just from the qty of followers or likes? But most probably they will not find this account without a link.
Buying followers, or participating in engagement pods will not hack the algorithm. The algorithm on the opposite will see that you gain followers who don’t engage with your content. If your followers will not engage, Instagram will not show your content to anyone. After that, you will have no choice but to buy likes. These fake likes will also hurt your engagement. If you don’t pay for it again the engagement will go down. In the end, you will have to pay for all the posts just to look nice. But these posts will have no functionality or bring anything extra to your business.
>> Additionally, those who have worked with Social Media will easily notice fake followers, traces of engagement pods, or fake likes. It will not help your business to have more collaborations or visibility either.

Posting low-quality visual media (photos, videos, captions)
If your business is not in the low-price segment, then you should invest in high-quality photos, videos, and captions.
>> For example, a good social media image should:
- Reflects the brand guidelines and the main concept/mission
- High-quality
- Right light / color editing
- Righ composition for social media and formating
- Everything in the photo should have a meaning. (For example, no trash bin or photographer bag in a villa & hotel photoshoot, or no foreign object in a food photoshoot unless it’s directly linked to your business or the story you want to tell)
